HEALTHFUL TIPS

Hello to you all,

Australia is one of the many western societies becoming a place of obsessive, poor nutrient over-eating; many Australians have poor time management coupled with misguided incentives and misinformation, health has been put in the back of our minds. The health of our western culture is decreasing rapidly. More influence from the drug companies is steering many toward artificial and short term answers. Weight loss surgery and weight loss pills are becoming the norm in our society. Pharmaceutical companies are pumping out millions of pills to the unsuspecting public to merely treat the “symptoms”* of poor health related deficiencies and all the while multiple negative reactions cause many to go through the whole process again months or even weeks or days later to receive more “Bandaid Solutions”*.

This article presents a practical approach to achieving and maintaining Optimum health

• NUTRITION; Your knowledge and wisdom
With the weather as erratic as it is around the globe, cooling down to the chills of autumn (fall) and winter, or heating up to the searing temperatures of hot summer days it is important to be feeding the body with the right amount of HEALTHY, FRESH and ORGANIC nutrition to support a sustainable healthy lifestyle. Eat into some fresh homemade vegetable soups which are quickly absorbed into the body due to their already liquid state. Fresh fruits are also a staple part of a healthy and sustainable lifestyle as well as lean and organic meats from chicken and beef to fish and other extremely lean game meats which are exceptionally high in protein and Iron whilst very low in fat.

Most local fresh food markets (NOT SUPERMARKETS) are a great source of healthy nutrient rich food and you can enjoy the atmosphere with a friend over a healthy lunch. If you are unable to make it to the markets and your only choice is the supermarket, then I encourage you to do your shopping from around the outside edge of the shop, where all the freshest vegetables, meats, dairy and fresher bread are kept. Purchase or even grow (if you can) some herbs and spices to enhance the flavour of your meals as well as increase the amount of minerals in your diet. Minerals help the body absorb all the vitamins which work to build better a overall health.

With my experience in the health and Fitness industry i have recognised that very rarely do many of my clients focus on, take note of or are even aware of state of interior health, yet only later after the health has destabilised to the point of illness or disease do many recognise it in their lack of energy, motivation, fluctuating weight (not always increased) and lastly decreased health status.

Here are a few questions you should be asking yourself and answering…honestly!

1. Are you concerned with the amount of toxins and chemicals in your environment?
2. Do you feel you get enough nutrition from the food you currently eat?
3. Do you eat organic produce?
4. Do you currently get a sound 8 hours sleep every night?
5. Do you feel alert every morning when you wake?
6. Do you have a hard time losing weight?
7. Do you consume coffee, tea, sugar, candy or similar products to give you a boost during the day?

• More than 65 insecticides, pesticides and herbicides can be found on everyday produce purchased at the market?
• More people today are reliant on outside stimulants to get through the day, caffeine being the biggest culprit
• Most of us currently have a scheduled maintenance for our car, our home air conditioner, water systems and even our pools; but we are not always as diligent with our own internal maintenance.

“Education and Not Medication Is the Key To Optimum, Sustainable Health & Wellness”

You see then, the biggest issue (pardon the pun) for many people this day and age in our western societies isn’t just a lack of fitness, motivation, determination but also a lack of real and life giving knowledge and education when it comes to healthy nutrition and sustainability. As a health professional I believe and promote a holistic approach to a complete and sustainable lifestyle. Health professionals should be educating clients and patients toward a holistic and complete lifestyle through adequate nutrition and exercise. I firmly believe that education and not medication is the key to an optimum, sustainable health and wellness.

• EXERCISE; Your healthy motivation to achieve!

The days are gone when:

1. A simple walk around the block was the motivation to go to the shops and buy the milk and bread. Instead Today: driving to the shops in the car is much more time efficient.
2. A game of football, cricket or soccer in the street was interrupted by passing cars and the milkman! Instead Today: interrupted by a new game for the “simulated game console”
3. A rainy day was spent inside playing cards, building miniature battle grounds in the bedroom, a game of monopoly or scrabble Instead Today: hours spent in front of the 100cm plasma playing the latest software game
4. The tired parent preparing a simple meal consisting a platter of fresh carrots, celery, cheese, tomato, capsicum, cucumber, beetroot, apples, bananas, nuts, bread rolls, sliced ham and turkey… and that is just what I can remember from when I was 5yrs old. Instead Today: order FATTY, OVERCOOKED, UNHEALTHY TAKE AWAY

These are just a few examples of the changes which I have noticed in the Australian western cultured background of the last 30 years and I grew up in a large family where everyone who could; played soccer, gymnastics, cricket, basket ball, hockey, volleyball, tennis, AFL, rugby league, rugby union..you name it we played it either competitively or in a backyard, quiet street capacity. Exercise has been left in the dark and only the committed, sport goal oriented, individuals remain. Otherwise it is those committed to some sort of weekly fitness program with a personal trainer. To those who don’t have a personal trainer and last longer than 12 months, striving for above average health…congratulations. I’m talking about those who may be in the category of gold passes to their local gym, I’m talking about those who step outside at any time of the year and participate in some sort of exercise regimen or personal health interest.

1. What makes you tick, is it coffee or endorphins?
2. What food did you eat as a child, was it chocolate cake or fruit?
3. How many times can you run around the block without getting tired?
4. Have you been inspired to go for a walk, ride, run or swim in the last 30 days?
5. Have you just eaten so much food that you feel lethargic?
6. How many times have you been sick this year?
7. How many times did you get sick last year?

Important Health Tips

If you’re looking for health tips for dogs, then you know that diet, exercise and proper supplementation is just as important for pets as it is for humans. In this article, you’ll learn about three important steps that you can make into part of a daily routine that will make a big difference in your dog’s health.

First, let’s talk about dog food. Most pet owners do not realize that they may be feeding their dog unhealthy food that robs them of their energy and lowers their immunity. To keep dogs healthy, good food is the first line of defense against disease. This means that it is critical to read the ingredients label on the kibble that you feed your dog. If you see ingredients like meat byproducts, cheap grains like corn meal and preservatives and long chemical names that you cannot easily pronounce, then you may want to consider feeding your pet a different brand.

Since dogs are carnivores, the first ingredient on the label should be some kind of meat. The food should also contain vitamins, minerals and healthy oils like the kind that comes from ground flax seeds. If you are feeding your pet kibble, make sure to moisten it with some broth or water. This is one of the most important health tips for dogs to ensure that your dog enjoys good urinary tract health.

Next, make sure that your dog always has a big clean bowl of water. I can’t tell you how many pet water bowls that I’ve seen that have a greenish cast because while the water has been replenished, the bowl itself hasn’t been scrubbed clean in a while. Since there are lots of chemicals in city-treated water that can adversely your pet, one way to keep dogs healthy is to install a tap filter. This way, both you and your dog can drink water that is free of chemicals and will do its job to hydrate and flush toxins from the body.

The actions of good food and good clean water are boosted by a supplement that contains natural anti-inflammatories and antioxidants that heighten immunity, increase energy and help your dog to feel strong and healthy. Look for a formulation that contains proven herbs including Milk Thistle, Cat’s Claw and Echinacea. Giving a daily supplement is one of the best and most effective health tips for dogs that you can take.

What’s The Single Best Dog Health

So, must be wondering that why do I need to pay more attention to the health of my dog when I already feed him healthy food? Well, it is definitely a good thing that you are not taking the health of your dog for granted and making sure that he is eating healthy food. However, I would like to tell you that just by eating healthy dog foods your dog will not be in the best of his health and there is still room for doing more things for your dog.

The most important thing is exercise and you should make sure that your dog is well exercised. The reason for this is that dogs have a lot of energy and if this energy is not used up then it may lead to destructive behavior from your dog and other dog behavior problems. The dog will then suffer from unnecessary aggression and will be jittery as well. Such dogs are very difficult to control and therefore, in such cases many owners and up giving up their responsibility and ownership. Now, can you even imagine doing this to your beloved pet? This is the reason why you should make sure that your dog is properly exercised and his energy levels are normal and there is no excess energy in him.

Exercising a dog is an easy job when a kid or children are around as they are there to leave with him. You must have seen dogs playing in parks and children’s playgrounds and now have you realized the potential energy and capacity of your dog. However, if yours is a household without kids then exercising the dog will definitely be an issue. The reason for this is that most of the adults have busy schedules and do not really have time to actually exercise themselves, let alone exercise the dog. However, you can definitely combine the two and keep your health up to the mark even while keeping your dog exercised. You can go for a brisk walk in the morning and take your dog with you for the same. This will be extremely healthy for you and prevent diseases like hard disorders and diabetes along with exercising your dog at the same time. Also, some other member of the family like your spouse or anybody else can do the same in the evening or after dinner. You can definitely take turns at this so as to keep it convenient for everybody and not let the whole load fall on any one person.

However, if you are just too busy and cannot do anything in spite of wanting to about this issue then I would like to suggest opting for a dog walker. Dog walkers basically walk the neighborhood dogs for a small fee and are sure you will find no trouble in finding one in your area as this is quite a common problem. So, I hope you have understood that exercise is the best way to keep a dog healthy along and you can definitely consult your vet or browse the Internet for more dog health tip.

Health for dogs [http://www.healthfordogs.net/] involves many different things such as regular exercise as mentioned above, healthy food and a whole host of other factors. Three Health Tips to Overcome

The common cold is one of the most common health ailments that we see each day. There can be many different signs and symptoms associated with the cold, such as coughing, headache, runny nose, body aches, fever, and fatigue. Chinese medicine has been shown to be effective for the treatment of the common cold. Chinese medical treatment for the cold can include acupuncture, herbs, and nutrition. In most cases Chinese medical treatments can resolve the cold within 1-2 days. These are three health tips according to Chinese medicine that can help you overcome the common cold.

1. The first tip is one of the easiest and cost effective. When you are experiencing a severe cough with or without sputum, some chest congestion, as well as regular cold signs such as headache and runny nose, then you can simply bake an orange. Go to you local grocery store and buy a good size orange. After you go home bake the orange in the oven at 375 degrees for half an hour. When the orange is cooked you can take it out peel it and eat it warm. The recommendation is to eat a baked orange at least three times per day. This will help warm the body and get rid of the cold. The orange is especially effective when you experience more coughing and chest congestion with your cold.

2. The second tip is effective when you have a sore throat or loss of voice. It is simply making a lemon tea. What you need to do is get a lemon and cut up some pieces put them in a pot of water. Bring the water with the lemon to a boil. Afterwards, add some honey to sweeten the lemon tea a little bit, then drink. The recommendation is to drink the lemon tea at least twice a day or as needed. The lemon tea will warm your body and improve your throat and voice.

3. The third tip is after you have tried some other things, but they are not helping the way that you would like them to. This tip is to go get some acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Acupuncture and Chinese herbs will help you get rid of your cold almost within one day. The acupuncture will balance your body to promote your body’s self-healing mechanisms, and it will help with all of the signs and symptoms of the cold. The Chinese herbs that are indicated for sore throat, headaches, runny nose are also anti-viral and anti-bacterial. They will help you feel better and get rid of the cold virus.

These three simple tips and home remedies are effective for the cold according to Chinese medicine. When you are experiencing a common cold instead of taking cold medicine with lots of side effects try these three tips first and let your body heal naturally.

The Most Important Health Tips

If you are someone you know is going through breast cancer, you know what an emotionally and physically trying time it is. Many forms of cancer treatment only add to the discomfort that the breast cancer patient experiences. Radiation treatments, for example, can cause a great deal of fatigue and it can take up to two months for your normal levels of energy to return. Therefore, it is important to follow a few health tips in order to minimize these side effects, as well as to help you get better sooner.

One of the most important things you can do for yourself while fighting breast cancer is to get plenty of rest. Do your best to get a full nights’ sleep. And, if you feel tired during the day, take the time to sleep or rest to allow your body time to recover.

Another thing you can do is eat a healthy diet. The healthier your body is, the better prepared it will be to fight the cancer and to recover from the treatment. Be sure to include plenty of protein in your diet because the amino acids found in protein are used by your body to help repair damage.

Sometimes, eating can be a difficult task if you are undergoing treatments for breast cancer. Surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and medications can adversely affect your appetite and digestive system. You might experience nausea, vomiting, changes in taste and smell, difficulty swallowing and chewing, constipation, and pain. If you are experiencing these problems, you need to take steps to increase your appetite and to make eating easier.

Firstly, try to make mealtime enjoyable by eating with friends and family or making eating as comfortable as possible. To add variety for your taste buds and to make eating more enjoyable, try new foods or new recipes. If you engage in mild exercise ½ hour before you eat, it can also help increase your appetite. Of course, you should check with your doctor before starting any type of exercise routine. Anti-nausea medicine can also be helpful if you are vomiting or experiencing nausea.

It is also helpful if you prepare meals ahead of time while you are feeling better and freeze them. These meals can be easily reheated when you are not feeling well. You should also keep small snacks on hand to munch on when you are feeling good enough to eat. In fact, it is best to eat small meals or snacks frequently throughout the day than to eat large meals. All foods you purchase should be easy to prepare or should be ready to eat. You should also look for foods that are high in calories and protein in order to help keep your weight on. Even the fluids you consume should be high in calories and protein. If you are having a hard time chewing and swallowing, you should puree your foods or purchase foods that are easy to swallow, such as applesauce, soup, baby food, pudding, and yogurt.

Additionally, there are a number of, herbs and vitamins which promote breast health.

Cat Health Tips

Caring for your cat can be a full time job if you don’t know what you’re doing. Here are just a few cat health tips.

Is your feline being naughty? The first cat health tip is that if your cats’ behavior has suddenly taken a turn for the worst, then your cat may have developed a medical condition. It has been shown that cats displaying behavior problems can be suffering illness of some type. If your cat has diabetes, it will have the urge to drink more and in turn, will urinate more and sometimes in the wrong place. To the uneducated, this can be deemed as a behavioral problem but this would be wrong.

Another cat health tip is the use of spray water bottles to help in training your cat. Cats often don’t like water so when you see your cat do something wrong, pick up the spray water bottle and give them a little spray of water on the head. Don’t go mad and soak your pet, just a light spray will do the trick. In a short amount of time, your cat will associate its bad action with the spraying and stop doing it.

The last one of the cat health tips is this. Take a trip to the vet and get your feline neutered. This may seem drastic but studies have shown that cats which have been neutered do not fight as much as cats which have not been neutered. The female cat is always in heat if she is not pregnant and the tom cat is always on the look out for a new mate. When cats are in these states, the fighting goes on so a trip to the vets will stop this.

Body Weight Starts Within

Most important is eating whole foods that are healthy and nourishing.

Foods that give your cells what they need…protection and food. To have a healthy body you must have healthy cells. In order to have healthy cells you must protect and feed them.

Here are 10 Helpful Health Tips to improve your health and better your body. You may not agree with them all. Take what resonates with you now and start to improve your health and your body will follow into “Tip Top Shape”.

1) Fall in love with water!

Your body is a molecular structure of energy and is up to 70% water! Babies have the most water, being born at about 78%. By one year of age it drops to around 65%, adult males about 60%; however, fat tissue does not have as much water as lean tissue. In adult females, fat makes up more of the body than males, so they have about 55%. Over-weight males also have less water (percentage) than thinner males. Over-weight people have less water than thinner people (percentage). Put a label on your water bottle with a positive affirmation. Such as, LOVE, PEACE, JOY, HAPPINESS. It works wonders! Love your body to its new shape.

2) Eat NO White!

White bread, white flour, white sugar, white rice—There is NO nutritional value in any of it…NONE. Period. Find whole grain breads to eat. There are many, many choices. Bake with whole wheat pastry flour (bakes a lovely cake and makes a perfect pie crust)…yummo! For sweeteners there are many natural products to choose. For example a few are evaporated cane juice, stevia, sucanat, xylitol and agave. Eat brown rice—comes in long grain, short grain and Basmati too!

3) Find a passionate exercise!

Even if the first step is to stop using the remote and walk to the TV to change the channel. Walk somewhere. Preferably 30 minutes a day. The more you do it the more you will love it. Start small. 15 minutes then work up to 30 minutes…before you know it you will be at 2 hours! Great cardio!

4) Rest your body!

Take time out of your busy, stressful schedule every two hours to give your body at least a 5 minute break. Do not skimp on sleep. Your body knows how much it needs. Give it the rest. A healthy body (regardless of size) takes time to meditate at some time during the day. Take a meditation walk. Drinking empty calorie energy drinks to stay awake is not good for your body. Your body is wonderfully and marvelous made—all machines have to be shutdown or go into sleep mode. Give your body rest.

5) Eat vibrant colorful foods!

Fruits and vegetables are loaded with antioxidants. Your cells are constantly bombarded with Free Radicals (Free Radicals come from living [breathing], smoking, toxins, pollution, and many other sources). When they attack the cells of your body they eventually cause damage to the cell. If you are not eating foods that can fight and repair the cell damage you are headed for the danger zone…you rust up, dry up, swell up, then turn to stone. Free Radical damage will cause one of two things happen,

  • Number one, the cell dies.
  • Number two, the cell mutates and then begins to duplicate in its mutated form. This is the cause of every major disease that we know of.

Antioxidants are the only thing that can protect you against Free Radicals. The more antioxidants that you have in your body (regardless of size) the more protection that you will have in your body. Over-weight people need more antioxidants because of the stress being put on the heart, lungs, joints and bones. Antioxidants can prevent and even reverse Free Radical damage.

6) If you are a tobacco smoker now is the time to STOP!

There is no way to be healthy and smoke. I stopped. Twice. One cigarette kills trillions of cells in your body. Heart attacks are responsible for more early deaths among smokers due to coronary artery disease that cancer.

7) Laugh! Sing! Dance!

A healthy body is in a good emotional state. Enjoy life. No matter your size. When you laugh the whole world laughs with you. Enjoy what you do in life. If you do not, do something else. NOW. Find something that resonates with you. Something that you love. Have passion about it. Have fun within your life. Laugh, sing and dance and the weight will melt away…especially dancing.

8) Overweight bodies are toxic!

Period. If you are overweight…you know if your are…this is very important. Lose the weight! Your health matters. Your heart cares. Do not go on a fade diet. Start eating healthy. Start reading the ingredients on labels. Know what you are eating. Calories are important, and empty ones do not count. Desire a late night snack…eat an apple. Have a mid-day crave…eat another apple. Grapes are good too. Eat to live, not live to eat. Also, read #1, 2 and 3 again.

9) Let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food!

Your allergies will clear up. Your migraines will disappear. Your body will begin to take on a new shape. If you begin to think it…it will be. If you continue thinking about how sick you are…it will be. How over-weight you are…you will be over-weight. Allow your body to heal itself. Take 3 deep breaths and go within…at anytime you need to center yourself. This helps as your body is taking on its natural new beautiful shape. You were born a beautiful baby. You are beautiful now. Believe it. Know it. Your body is a system of wellness. Your body will tell you what it needs. Be still and listen.

10) Listen to your body!

Ask yourself what is it that you need to pay attention to? What are you constantly eating that is toxic to your body? Is it a diet too high in LDL foods? Is it a toxic diet of fatty foods, sodas, foods with a lot of artificial this and artificial that? Your body was not designed to digest “ARTIFICIAL”. Are you constantly having colds? Are you eating any fruits and vegetables? If not, you are not giving your body antioxidants or fiber to be healthy…to have healthy organs…especially a healthy heart. Try the 4 New Food Groups:

Fruit:

3 or more servings a day. Fruits are rich in fiber, vitamin C, and beta-carotene.

Men’s sexual health is extremely important but often overlooked and for that reason not many men know much about what to do to specifically for that part of the body to run smoothly. Here we will discuss a few sexual health tips to make sure that everything is moving smoothly for you down there.

Obviously the first two tips are a healthy diet and plenty of exercise. By eating more fruits and vegetables, you will have the nutrients that play an active role in your performance and your feelings afterward. By exercising more not only do you increase your sexual stamina but you also keep the workings of that area running smoothly which will have a big effect on your sexual health. Quitting smoking is important also as men who smoke are 85% more likely to experience difficulties with impotence. The next big step in the right direction is reducing your alcohol intake. Most people enjoy the feeling of inhibition leaving when they drink alcohol, but it is that which also lowers your libido and makes arousal and orgasm less likely and more difficult to achieve. Stress and anxiety can also create problems with sex, and is the primary cause of premature ejaculation.

These tips may all seem rudimentary and cliché, but they are thus because of how significant an effect they will have on the sexual performance and overall well being on the person. There is no reason to not do these things and experience the overall improvement of health that is experienced when one begins a new lifestyle.
